Everyone was invited to come and help celebrate the arrival of Spring by cleaning up the grounds. We spruced up the gardens and lawn for Newcomers Sunday.
Volunteers can still help! Weeds continue to grow and the plants get thirsty....

Everyone is welcome at St. Mark's and today we introduce by name the people whose faces we've recently come to recognize. Newcomers will be welcomed by name at the 8:00 and 10:00 services, between the services at the Adult Forum, and at Coffee Hour after the 10:00 service.
If you are new to St. Mark's and haven't received a personal invitation to Newcomers Sunday please call the office!
Watch for further details here.

Please note that Theology Sandwiched In will be held later in the month than it has been. This is expected to be a permanent change.
The novel Gilead was written as a first-person account of John Ames, a minister who is the son of an Iowa preacher, and the grandson of a Maine minister who had a vision and went to Kansas to fight for abolition. Reverend Ames writes to his son of the tension between his father, a pacifist, and his grandfather who may have been involved in the fight between those who wanted Kansas admitted as a slave state and those who wanted Kansas to be free. As he prepares for the end of his life, Reverend Ames shows his love for his ancestors and son through vignettes of ordinary life mixed with hard-won lessons.
Remember to ask for your reading group discount at Bank Square Books (external Site). Our discussion will be on Tuesday, April 22 at 12:30 PM.
The book for May is Verna Dozier's The Dream of God.

Each year we gather in the Undercroft for a social time and appetizers, then go in small groups to members' homes for the main course, and finally come back together in the Undercroft for desert and the awarding of the Lionheart Award.
The Lionheart Award is presented to a member of the Parish who has, for years, exemplified the qualities of stewardship and Christian love by giving time, talent, and treasure.
