Most events are held at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 15 Pearl Street, Mystic, CT 06355. Events held at other locations are emphasized by this font. Holy days and most secular holidays are noted this way. 3 Pentecost, for example, means the third Sunday after Pentecost.
Daily or weekly events, such as Morning Prayer, the Holy Eucharist at StoneRidge, are described in detail on the Description & Schedule Page, along with some monthly events such as the Healing Service.
The Parish Picnic was held on Sunday the 1st of June. Father Mark took some great photos of the Picnic to entice people to go next year.
A special event was added in June! The Daisy Open House was an opportunity to enjoy a blooming meadow by a quiet cove and help St. Mark's outreach to St. Luc's School in Haiti. Many friends and neighbors joined Barbara and Doug at their home. Be sure to see the photos!
From Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend, instead of gathering after each Sunday service for Coffee Hour in the Undercroft, we gather for Lemonade on the Lawn in front of the church. The combination of warm weather, informality, and open space often means that we get to know one another better. Don't like lemonade? There's always an alternative: Fruit juice, punch, or bottled water. There are cookies, brownies, et cetera, too.
The Adult Forum, Church School, Choir Rehearsal, and Handbell Rehearsal, and Theology Sandwiched In (book discussions) take the summer off.
Summer Choir Rehearsal takes place at 9:15 AM on Sundays, beginning on the 8th of June. Would you like to try singing in the choir without making a long-term commitment? Then Summer Choir is for you! Just show up to rehearse in the Music Room in the Education Wing.
Godly Play continues throughout the year.

After the 10:00 AM service on June 1st we gathered at Sutton Park in Groton for good food and fellowship, for games and fun. The Sunday for the picnic was sunny and bright, with no worries about rain this year.
Hot dogs and hamburgers were provided by St. Mark's and people brought their own drinks and a side dish to share.
Games were much enjoyed, both by the participants and the spectators. In the three-legged race, the styles were ... varied, as were the results.
Sack races and egg carries are always fun. The facial expressions are priceless! The contestants are being egged on (sorry) while they try to keep an on the competition.
She swings for the outfield! (Look at that concentration.) Meanwhile, the New York Times Crossword is the game of choice for these three. Which one is the Rector? (Hint: Fr. Mark likes red.)

For the past six years, on the first Saturday of each month a group of St. Mark's Church School teachers, their children and grandchildren, and many of the children from the Church School and their parents visit the residents of Mystic Manor.
We do a seasonal craft, which usually consists of a drawing that we color and decorate with flowers, stickers, etc. Two or three times a year we have a party at Mystic Manor, to which we bring cookies and cupcakes. Mark Wydler plays his guitar and leads us all in song. Fr. Mark Santucci gives much comfort and cheer to all.

We enjoyed a spectacular display of daises and other wildflowers at the home of Barbara and Doug in Mystic. The Weather Committee kept the thunderstorms at bay! (Father Mark had promised us no rain before 4:15.)
People chatted, wandered through the wildflowers, and enjoyed the view of the cove.
Father Mark (center) relaxed and shared some good news about his family with us. There many, many smiles as people from St. Mark's talked about non-church topics.
Everyone sampled locally-produced cheese, wine, punch, and hors d'oeuvres. Not only were there daisies and other wildflowers, roses abounded, too!
People were generous in the free-will offering which will benefit St. Mark's outreach to St. Luc's Church and School in Haiti. Thank you, Barbara and Doug! And thank you, Fr. Mark, for the photographs.

"The Diocese [of Connecticut] is divided into 14 geographic units called deaneries, each with an elected dean, sub-dean, secretary and treasurer. These were established decades ago as a way to improve communication and encourage collaborative ministry, and replaced an older model of archdeaconries."
"The diocesan bishop views the deanery system as a helpful way to gather clergy and parishes regionally. Confirmations are held on a deanery basis, and bishops meet with each deanery's clergy on a regular basis. Elected lay delegates to convention serve as delegates to their deanery as well."
(The two quoted paragraphs are from the Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut Web Site (external Site).
