Most events are held at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 15 Pearl Street, Mystic, CT 06355. Events held at other locations are emphasized by this font. Holy days and most secular holidays are noted this way. 8 Pentecost, for example, means the eighth Sunday after Pentecost.
Daily or weekly events, such as Morning Prayer, the Holy Eucharist at StoneRidge, are described in detail on the Description & Schedule Page, along with some monthly events such as the Healing Service.
From Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend, instead of gathering after each Sunday service for Coffee Hour in the Undercroft, we gather for Lemonade on the Lawn in front of the church. The combination of warm weather, informality, and open space often means that we get to know one another better. Don't like lemonade? There's always an alternative: Fruit juice, punch, or bottled water. There are cookies, brownies, et cetera, too.
The Adult Forum, Church School, Choir Rehearsal, and Handbell Rehearsal, and Theology Sandwiched In (book discussions) take the summer off.
Summer Choir Rehearsals take place at 9:15 AM on Sundays. Would you like to try singing in the choir without making a long-term commitment? Then Summer Choir is for you! Just show up to rehearse in the Music Room in the Education Wing.
Godly Time is the summer replacement for Godly Play. It gives parents a chance to have volunteers (other parents) keep an eye on their children until the kids join the service at announcement time in the Sanctuary. Godly Play will return in the Fall, about the time that public school starts again.

For the past six years, on the first Saturday of each month a group of St. Mark's Church School teachers, their children and grandchildren, and many of the children from the Church School and their parents visit the residents of Mystic Manor.
We do a seasonal craft, which usually consists of a drawing that we color and decorate with flowers, stickers, etc. Two or three times a year we have a party at Mystic Manor, to which we bring cookies and cupcakes. Mark Wydler plays his guitar and leads us all in song. Fr. Mark Santucci gives much comfort and cheer to all.

The Mystic Area Ecumenical Council is sponsoring a series of films, to be shown at area churches this summer. Please note the different times. On July 10th St. Mark's will be the host church for the film The Cup. Based on real events, The Cup is the story of two Tibetan boys who are sent, with much hardship and danger, to a monastery in exile in the picturesque foothills of the Himalayas. A whirlwind of events not usually associated with the austere atmosphere of the monastery intrudes on their routine - how can they get to watch the World Cup Finals? This film is rated G.
On July 24th Union Baptist Church will be the host church for Brother Bear, about a young Inuit hunter named Kenai seeks vengeance against a bear who he believes killed his brother. Instead, Kenai is magically changed into a bear himself, and his only chance to change back is with a talkative bear cub. His journey introduces him to a forest full of wildlife including wooly mammoths, hilarious moose, and the bear cub named Koda who teaches him what brotherhood really is. This film is rated G.
The other film dates are August 7th and 21st.

Baptism is joining the whole Christian family, that's why at St. Mark's we always encourage young people to come closer (or sit on the floor) where they can see better.

Seabury Deanery is an affiliation of Episcopal Churches in Southeastern Connecticut. Member churches include St. Mark's Church in Mystic, St. James Church in New London (external Site), St. John's Church in Niantic (external Site), St. James Church in Poquetanuck (external Site), St. David's Church in Gales Ferry (external Site), Grace Church in Yantic (external Site), Christ Episcopal Church in Norwich (external Site), Calvary Church in Stonington (external Site), and St. James Church in New London (external Site).
"The Diocese [of Connecticut] is divided into 14 geographic units called deaneries, each with an elected dean, sub-dean, secretary and treasurer. These were established decades ago as a way to improve communication and encourage collaborative ministry, and replaced an older model of archdeaconries."
"The diocesan bishop views the deanery system as a helpful way to gather clergy and parishes regionally. Confirmations are held on a deanery basis, and bishops meet with each deanery's clergy on a regular basis. Elected lay delegates to convention serve as delegates to their deanery as well."
(The two quoted paragraphs are from the Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut Web Site (external Site).
