Lent always brings special programs to St. Mark's.

Please see the complete list on the Lenten Programs Page and Adult Forum Page.

For specific dates and times of services and other events, please check out the Calendars Page.

Sunday Services

Holy Eucharist (Communion) is celebrated every Sunday at 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM. All baptized persons are invited to join us in the Sacrament of Christ's Body and Blood. During the Church School year, the Adult Forum takes place at 9:00 AM, between the services.

An active Church School is available for people in pre-kindergarten through 6th grade. In addition, childcare is provided for infants and young children.

The 10 o'clock service has a complete choir, with David Tubbs, the Director of Music, providing accompaniment on St. Mark's pipe organ. People of all ages participate in the service, with young people serving as acolytes. The Church School comes into the sanctuary at the Peace and joins us for the rest of the service. There is usually a special "Teaching Moment" for the children.

Coffee Hour follows the 8 AM and 10 AM service, except during the summer. Beginning on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend and continuing through Labor Day weekend, we gather for "Lemonade on the Lawn". Everyone enjoys the opportunity to visit with each other and share lemonade and cookies. Visitors and newcomers are always welcome, and the informality of "Lemonade on the Lawn" seems to make it easier to get acquainted.

Morning Prayer

On Monday through Friday, Morning Prayer is held at 9 AM. (There may be exceptions due to holidays; please check the Calendars Page.) Morning Prayer is a quiet service; there is no instrumental music or singing.

Weekday Eucharist

The Holy Eucharist is celebrated on Wednesdays at 10:30 AM at Avalon Health Center (WWW.StoneRidgeLCS.Com/health/avalon_health_center.html [external Site]), part of StoneRidge Retirement Community, 186 Jerry Browne Road, Mystic, CT 06355 (WWW.StoneRidgeLCS.Com [external Site]), and on Thursdays at 7:00 AM at St. Mark's Church.

Bible Study

On most Thursdays at 8:00 AM, Bible Study is held. Everyone is welcome! Please check the Calendars Page.

Weekly Public Service of Healing

During Lent 2010 we will have a Healing Service as part of the Wednesday evening Contemplative Eucharist. If you have someone for whom you would like us to pray, but cannot attend the service, please call the parish office at (860) 572-9549 and leave a message.

Craft Workshop

From shortly after the January thaw until just before the Christmas Bazaar, people hold the Craft Workshop on Tuesdays at 9:00 AM to prepare items for sale at the Christmas Bazaar, which is held on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. You are welcome to participate, no matter how crafty you feel!
