Interested in what is going on during the summer of 2008? Check out the 2008 Calendars.
Holy Eucharist (Communion) is celebrated every Sunday at 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM. All baptized persons are invited to join us in the Sacrament of Christ's Body and Blood. During the Church School year, the Adult Forum takes place at 9:00 AM, between the services.
An active Church School is available for people in pre-kindergarten through 6th grade. In addition, childcare is provided for infants and young children.
The 10 o'clock service has a complete choir, with the Director of Music providing accompaniment on St. Mark's pipe organ. People of all ages participate in the service, with young people serving as acolytes. The Church School comes into the sanctuary at the Peace and joins us for the rest of the service. There is usually a special "Teaching Moment" for the children.
Coffee Hour follows the 8 AM and 10 AM service, except during the summer. Beginning on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend and continuing through Labor Day weekend, we gather for "Lemonade on the Lawn". Everyone enjoys the opportunity to visit with each other and share lemonade and cookies. Visitors and newcomers are always welcome, and the informality of "Lemonade on the Lawn" seems to make it easier to get acquainted.
On Monday through Friday, Morning Prayer is held at 9 AM. (There may be exceptions due to holidays; please check the 2008 Calendars.) Morning Prayer is a quiet service; there is no instrumental music or singing.
The Holy Eucharist is celebrated on Wednesdays at 10:30 AM at StoneRidge Retirement Community, 186 Jerry Browne Road, Mystic, CT 06355 (WWW.StoneRidgeLCS.Com [external Site]), and on Thursdays at 7:00 AM at St. Mark's Church.
On most Thursdays at 8:00 AM, Bible Study is held. Everyone is welcome! Please check the 2008 Calendars.
On the second Tuesday of each month a service of prayer, anointing, meditation, and Eucharist is held at 7:00 PM. If you have someone for whom you would like us to pray, but cannot attend the service, please call the parish office at (860) 572-9549 and leave a message.
On the third Tuesday of most months we meet at 12:30 PM to discuss a specific book that is relevant to theology today. Each of us brings a bag lunch; beverages are provided. Please check the 2008 Calendars.
From shortly after the January thaw until just before the Christmas Bazaar, people hold the Craft Workshop on Tuesdays at 9:00 AM to prepare items for sale at the Christmas Bazaar, usually held on the third Saturday in November. You are welcome to participate, no matter how crafty you feel!
